Flotation Toy Warning Genius

It’s rare that an album captures my attention so completely, but it has now been over a year and I’m still listening to Bluffers Guide to the Flight Deck by Flotation Toy Warning incessantly. If you like The Flaming Lips, Mercury Rev, Grandaddy, The Clientele, Pink Floyd or even have a passing interest in any of the above, then buy it. I promise that you won’t be disappointed.

Has anyone else listened to FTW at all? What do you think? I’m sorry, but I just don’t trust Saunders.

I had my cousin listen to it, and he said that while he hasn’t really had the chance to really concentrate on it, it’s good. It reminds him of a band called Grandaddy, he says. (”The Sophtware Slump” was mentioned.)

I don’t really know what those last few sentences mean, I’m just relaying it.

  3. Phil Saunders Says:

I can certainly see the similarities between The Sophtware Slump and Bluffers.

Pleased your cousin professed cautious enthusiasm - I’m still in a state of shocked admiration that he had knowledge of everyone’s-favourite-bowling-alley-frequenting-trio, The Clientele…

And Keef, don’t just take my word for it:
