Organized

It’s ‘Organised’! ‘ORGANISED’! I really don’t appreciate my office spell checker automatically ‘correcting’ me because it thinksĀ I’m in America.

If by “office” you mean Microsoft Office, you can instruct the software to check specifically for British spellings. See Microsoft Support on the subject.

Should that prove insufficient, and/or slightly tainted, issuing as it does from Washington state, USA, you could splash out for the Oxford University Press electronic spellchecker, which integrates with MS Word. Price: available on request only…

Unfortunately my rant was directed at Outlook, the spellchecker of which seems to default back to ‘English (US)’ no matter how many times I try and change it.

There’s probably a way around it if I try hard enough. Sadly, it’s far easier to whinge then it is to pursue a positive solution!

(This could be one of the reasons that this site has been renamed ‘theoldmansaunders.com’ by various parties, including my sister).
