The Best Soy Latte That You Ever Had
Series 1-4 of Battlestar Galactica on sale in HMV for £30? I’d been hearing good things about it for so long, that it was an opportunity too good to turn down. I got The Wire season 1 box set for my birthday, and all five seasons of Six Feet Under queued up on my LoveFilm account, but Battlestar went instantly to the top of my viewing list.
I’m told it goes ‘a bit weird’ somewhere around series 3, but it’s worth persevering with. Still, I just finished up season 2 last night, and I have to say it was the best television I’ve seen since sitting through the first few seasons of Lost on boxset earlier this year (spoiler free… it always must be spoiler free).
Anyway… all those long shots of CGI nebulae got me thinking a bit about the real thing. And thinking often leads to research, which leads to Wikipedia, which leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering…
Anyway, the point of all this preamble was mostly just wanting to share this awesome .gif, derived from pictures taken by the Voyager I probe on its approach to Jupiter in 1979:

Frankly, it’s mind-blowing stuff, and makes you feel very small and insignificant. The Universe and all that spacey-wacey, swirly-wirly stuff is pretty cool too.
